20 Silk Business Cards with Spot Gloss
Silk business cards are very popular because they look very elegant, classy, expensive and at the same time durable and last longer. In commercial or offset printing, silk refers to a special laminate finish being applied to full color business cards and other printed materials to achieve a matte finish and super silky smooth appearance. The laminate also make the paper or card stock used for printing your business card tear and water resistant. Silk business cards also look expensive because they are usually printed on thicker card stock (from 10-16pt heavy card stock) Other people, however, find the matte finish boring and flat. You can further enhance the appearance of silk laminated business cards by adding highlights such as colored foil stamping or raised spot UV or spot gloss.

Some laminators use film and others use pouches. You can also get self seal A4 laminating pouches and laminating sheets. When you buy a laminator, you might get lamination film or pouches with it or you can buy these separately. It is worth buying laminator supplies in bulk since they keep for a long time. If you buy a used A4 lamination machine, it might come with supplies that the previous owner has not used. You can get A4 pouches in big packs of fifty or a hundred if you are going to do a lot of laminating.
