25 Photo Reflections in Photography Examples
Creating reflections is one of the amazing things that you can do to spice up a rather boring scene. However, taking dramatic photos with reflections can prove to be rather hard than you first thought. In photography, reflections come in forms and guises and can be explored on easily available things. Reflections can be achieved through glasses, water or any shiny and reflective surface. You can takeĀ dramatic landscape shots to detailed macro compositions using these mediums.
Some basic things to remember when shooting for reflections:
- Depth of field: Try to use a high f-stop such as f/11 or higher. This will level out the subjects of the shot so the eye perceives them in closer relation, enhancing the reflection effect.
- Focus: Try focusing on the subject, then trying focusing on the reflection. This should produce slightly varied results and your preference will depend on how much attention you want to draw to the reflection.
- Angle: Think about the angle of the light and how it affect the reflection. In a studio setting you can manipulate this to emphasise the reflection, but in a natural setting you may want to explore different viewpoints to find the angle at which the reflection is most visible.
